Coronation Best Start Hub...

Coronation Park Best Start Hub
We are located at Coronation Park Day Nursery in Sarnia. The hub has two clinic rooms, a meeting room, a multipurpose room and an office for staff and professional use. Coronation Park Day Nursery offers care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers at the hub, JK/SK wraparound, and before and after school care at St. Benedict and Queen Elizabeth Elementary Schools.
The OEYC offers daily drop-in and parenting programs to families in the hub, community and neighbourhood schools. Active Babies, Dads Connect, monthly visits from the OEYC Early Literacy Specialist, and Home Child Care Provider Workshops are a few of the programs offered through the hub. Daily opportunities to engage in physical activity takes place in the child care playground at the end of the drop-in session. A Thursday evening session allows for working parents to attend drop-in programs with their children.
An annual Ready Set Grow, Preschool Checkpoint is offered in the hub, where community professionals are available to screen development, discuss nutrition, immunization and the transition to school. The ASQ and Nippissing developmental screenings are administered to each child between 18 months and four years that attends. Recommendations for follow-up services and strategies to assist with development are discussed between the parent and community professional.
The clinic rooms are used on a daily basis by community partners. They are used by Pathways Health Centre For Children for speech and language and occupational assessments and therapy; by the community health nurse, for hearing assessments and to monitor infants growth and development (a scale to weigh babies). St. Clair Child and Youth Services visits the hub monthly to conduct a child check clinic and offers supports to mom’s experiencing post partum mood disorder.
The meeting room is available to our community partners as well as for school meetings.
Transportation assistance is available.
